Andre Ward about Usyk-Fury fight: “I have goosebumps from the Ukrainian’s words”

Rumor has it that the current holders of all heavyweight belts Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) will determine the absolute in this weight in a head-to-head fight and have even agreed on the distribution of the prize fund.

Meanwhile, the legendary Andre Ward shared
opinion about this super fight: “Who will win? You know, we’ve known for years that a good big fighter will beat a good little fighter. I think it will be exactly the same in this case. Yes, in no case should Usyk be written off. But Fury is not Anthony Joshua. He not only has amateur experience, but also an advantage in anthropometry, which he knows how to use.

“There is no internal conflict there,” says Ward of the changes in Fury’s boxing style. “He knows how to box, and now he has also learned to unleash that fighting dog that lives inside. We saw him get back on his feet after missing shots from Deontay Wilder. We’ve seen him take punches that would take the vast majority of heavyweights down. He always finds a way to win.”

“I get goosebumps from Usyk’s words,” says Ward. – I really liked it when he said: “I want to fight Fury, because he has the title missing from the full collection. And other fights do not interest me.” Likewise, Fury himself. They both want this fight. All of this is reminiscent of the good old days. It’s like in the 90s or early 2000s. What intrigues me the most about this fight? The skill of both boxers and their difference in anthropometry.

Meanwhile, Usyk’s ex-rival believes that the Ukrainian can use Fury’s size against him. Another ex-rival of Alexander shared an unexpected opinion: “Usyk-Wilder is better than Usyk-Fury.”
