The undefeated Mexican ex-world champion in the junior middleweight Jaime Munguia (40-0, 32 KOs), after another ordinary victory in the middle category (up to 72.6 kg), expressed the hope that at the end of the year he would finally be able to hold big fight and fight for the title in the second division, being in the ring with the current WBC champion American Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs).
Recall that on June 12 in Anaheim (USA), Munguia, as expected, dealt with the British middle peasant Jimmy Kelly, stopping him in the 5th round – a video of a knockout and the best moments of this fight.
“I am ready for any challenge,” Munguia assured. Ready to fight for a world title at 72.6kg or move up at 76.2kg. I want to tell (Jermall) Charlo the same thing that Oscar (De La Hoya) told him: grow your balls and stop hiding behind Al Haymon.
“I think our fight (with Charlo) would be cool for the whole of boxing. Hopefully we can have a big fight by the end of the year,” he continued. – As a fighter, I will keep asking for a fight (with Charlo). Unfortunately, so far it has not happened due to problems with the broadcasters, but not with the promoters. Hopefully by the end of the year we’ll have it all sorted out.”
Earlier, Jaime predicted that Golovkin would lose to Alvarez and return to middleweight.
