Russian fighter Anatoly Tokov failed to win the Bellator middleweight championship belt, having suffered a defeat in the confrontation with American Johnny Eblin at the Bellator 290 tournament in Inglewood.
The title fight, which became the second most important event of the event, went all the way and ended with the victory of the defending champion by unanimous decision with a score of 50-45 and 49-46 twice.
Tokov looked good in the starting five-minute period, outplaying his opponent in the standing position, but from the second round Eblin began to increase the pace and actively use his wrestling skills, while the Russian, on the contrary, slowed down and became noticeably addicted physically.
In the championship rounds, the challenger looked completely exhausted, and at the end of the fight, Eblin found strength for a spectacular suplex, which became a kind of point in his dominant performance.
Having defended the title, undefeated Johnny Eblin chalked up his fourteenth professional win, while Anatoly Tokov broke a streak of seven Bellator wins.
