Anatoly Malykhin made weight before his third ONE title fight

Russian fighter Anatoly Malykhin, who is ONE’s heavyweight and bantamweight champion, successfully weighed in ahead of his ONE middleweight title fight against Rainier de Ridder, recording 92.8 kg (204.5 lbs) on the scale.

The Dutchman, who will defend the championship belt he owns, settled at 92.5 kg (204 lbs).

The title bout will be the main event of the ONE 166 tournament, which takes place on March 1 in Qatar.

In December 2022, the Russian fighter stripped de Ridder of his ONE heavyweight title by winning the fight by first-round TKO, and last June, Anatoly Malykhin successfully unified the current and interim ONE heavyweight titles by finishing Arjan Bullard by third-round TKO.

Prior to the bout with the Russian, Rainier de Ridder knew no defeats and was on a streak of sixteen wins, fourteen of which came early. For “Dutch Knight” the fight with “Sweet” will be an immediate rematch, and Anatoly Malykhin, if successful, will become the first triple champion in the history of mixed martial arts.
