“American Lomachenko” Rodriguez knocked out the legendary Rungvisai: video

Tech Port Arena, San Antonio, USA. In the main event of the show, the local 22-year-old WBC super flyweight champion (up to 52.2 kg) Jesse Rodriguez (16-0, 11 KOs) made his debut title defense – he knocked out the legend from Thailand, the puncher Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (50-6-1 , 43 K.O.).

Rodriguez, who is often compared to the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko due to his style, started the fight great: he controlled the distance due to the work of his legs, failed the sweeping challenger (he even collapsed behind the blows), countered well with hooks, hit several times with left straight lines.

In the 2nd round, Rungvisai brought his fist to the goal for the first time – the champion holds well and hits much more in response. So far, speed, agility, footwork and attack angles make the difference in Rodriguez’s favor – he’s damn good. The challenger tried to press more aggressively in the 3rd round, the champion had to clinch more often. It did not always save – Rungvisai dropped the opponent in the clinch.

The champion did a great job of hiding his head from the blows of the veteran, striking with incredible efficiency against the Thai – the legendary Roman Gonzalez and Juan Francisco Estrada never had such a thing. But with each subsequent round, the effectiveness of Rungvisai gradually increases, he breaks through the body a lot. This is just the beginning, it will be very difficult.

The number of missed shots began to tell. In the 7th round, Rodriguez dropped Rungvisai. Incredible! This is a master class!
