All because of Usyk. Wallin Reveals Why Joshua Chose Franklin

April 1st O2 Arena in London (England), local ex-unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) will fight with American Jermaine Franklin (21-1, 14 KOs). The Swede Otto Wallin (25-1, 14 KOs) is dissatisfied with the choice of the British – he was one of the top candidates for the fight with the ex-champion.

knowswhy Joshua chose not him: “Why? Because I’m left handed. And Joshua has two defeats in a row to left-hander Oleksandr Usyk. But that’s not all. I think they are afraid of me. Everyone knows that I am very good – I gave Tyson Fury such a fight that he barely managed. So it would be too much of a challenge for Joshua. And in his team, most likely, they wanted to organize a fight for him in which he would regain confidence in his abilities and look good. They needed an opponent who could be knocked out. I understand that at this stage of my career, I simply didn’t suit them – it’s too risky an option. ”

Despite this, Wallin is not sure that Joshua will be able to knock out the American: “Jermain gave a very good fight to Dillian Whyte. To be honest, it seems to me that he was better and should have won. Yes, Joshua will be the favorite. Yes, he should win by knockout. But let’s wait for the fight and see how Franklin will look. I think he has some skills and abilities. So let’s wait and see for ourselves.”

The other day Anthony Joshua announced the name of the new coach. Meanwhile, Franklin questioned the quality of the Briton’s resume. Doubts in Joshua and his compatriot coach Dominic Ingle: AJ passed the test with Klitschko, but it does not count.
