Aljamain Sterling has officially named the next opponent

Reigning UFC bantamweight title holder Aljamain Sterling has confirmed that former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo, who is returning to the octagon after a nearly three-year hiatus, will be his next opponent.

“The hot news is that this fight will take place,” the American fighter said in a video posted on his Youtube channel. “Obviously you saw my eye battle with Henry Cejudo and I have no problem fighting him. I have never avoided a fight in my life. The UFC gives me the toughest competitors and I always jump in and win. I officially announce that the fight with Henry will be next, and it is scheduled for March. The issue has been resolved – only signatures on paper are missing. This is the next fight.”

Earlier, the title fight was announced by the manager of Henry Cejudo, Ali Abdelaziz. Presumably, the fighters will meet on March 4 at UFC 285.

On October 22 at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, Aljamain Sterling successfully defended his championship belt, finishing with a TKO in the second round of TJ Dillashaw, and Henry Cejudo last entered the octagon in May 2020, knocking out Dominick Cruz in the second round.
