Sterling didn’t clarify whether he’s looking forward to the immediate rematch he talked about at the press conference following UFC 292 in Boston, or if he’s ready to get his career back on track against one of the division’s top fighters.
After losing to Sean O’Malley by technical knockout in the second round, Aljamain Sterling dropped three spots in the organization’s rankings of the top fighters regardless of weight class, moving from sixth position to ninth, and also took the top spot in the UFC’s lightweight division rankings, from which he displaced his friend and teammate Merab Dvalishvili.
