Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo: words before the fight

Bantamweight title rivals Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo have made their final comments ahead of the May 6 headline bout at UFC 288 in Newark.

Aljamain Sterling:

“This guy is coming back after a 3 year hiatus and it’s really impressive. I was sure it was a joke, but I’m glad he took it seriously and look forward to taking down another legend, another former champion. He has achievements and I can’t wait to take everything from him because he said it would be an easy fight. What happens when he loses and I make that motherfucker kneel?”

“This is not about underestimating the opponent, because I respect anyone who enters this octagon. The last time I disrespected an opponent, they turned off the light and I woke up in the hospital, so now I respect everyone who goes there. ”

Henry Cejudo:

“I have never lost a title. I’m looking at this one like I’m a champion and he’s a contender, and you guys hired the right hit man. I’m here to do my job, and I’ll drag this clown to the very depths.”

“Many people think that I am flippant about Aljamain, but how can you not take an Oscar winner seriously? If he really respects me, he should kneel right now because that’s exactly what he’s going to have to do on May 6th.”
