“I’m ready to fight him tomorrow,” the Ukrainian said at the post-fight press conference. “I will give him a rematch, but it will be a street fight. I’m ready. Tomorrow, or even now. Without boxing gloves, right on the street. No leg kicks, just bare knuckles.”
“Boxing is a gentleman’s sport. You can’t punch people in the y***s. He lost, and he says my shorts were high up. Comedy. Tell him I can box with him without shorts.”
Usik also responded to a question about whether he still wants to fight Britain’s Tyson Fury, who holds the WBC championship belt.
“If he wants that fight, I want it too. Just let him hit the y***s. Of course I want to face him before I retire.”
The fight between Oleksandr Usik and Daniel Dubois, which took place the previous day in Poland, ended with the Ukrainian winning by knockout in the ninth round, however, the Brit’s team have already said they will appeal as they believe the body kick was legal.
Tyson Fury is currently preparing for a boxing match against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on October 28 in Riyadh, but this time the title of “The Gypsy King” will not be on the line.
