“I’m ready,” Topuria said after a final battle of glances at the showcase weigh-in ceremony. “You’re all going to witness it – tomorrow night I’m going to make history. One more will go to bed.”
The champion responded by expressing his satisfaction that all the talk and promotion of the fight was behind him, as well as his absolute confidence that the title would stay with him.
“Now the talk is over and he has to come out in the octagon with me,” Wolkanowski responded. “I’m going to show him how things are. He fell apart at the press conference, he’ll fall apart tomorrow. And he’s still the champion! Let’s go!”
Recall that the featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Elijah Topuria will be the main event of UFC 298, which will take place in Anaheim on Saturday night through Sunday, Moscow time.
