Albert Duraev: “I can kill any drummer”

Albert Duraev:

Russian middleweight Albert Duraev, who will face American Chidi Njokuani this weekend at UFC on ESPN 43 in San Antonio, is ready to return his career to a successful track and does not plan to bring the fight to a judge’s decision.

“About the last fight, a lot of mistakes were made, and it was before the fight, in fact,” Duraev said at a press conference before the event. “There was nothing surprising for me in it, because I knew my condition. Since then, we have worked a lot, including on defense, and in general we have changed the approach to combat.

“My opponent is tall, awkward in a way, but we worked hard enough to finish him. There are a couple of moments where he is dangerous, but otherwise I am dangerous for him in all aspects.

“Many people think that I can only beat a man in wrestling, but I can beat any striker, trust me, and Chidi is on the same list. So I don’t think he’s a better drummer than me. Yes, I have a good fight, I can beat anyone in our division, and naturally, I will try to take advantage of my fight and finish it at any opportunity.”

Duraev also shared his opinion about the title rematch between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya, which will take place on April 8 at UFC 287 in Miami.

“If Pereira beat him three times, I think he can do it a fourth time, because for Adesanya this will be a psychological barrier that he is unlikely to be able to overcome”
