Adames tore apart Montiel to become WBC ‘interim’ champion

Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California, USA. The vacant belt of the “interim” WBC middleweight champion (up to 72.6 kg) in a full-time fight was played by the Dominican Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KOs) and the Mexican Juan Macias Montiel (23-6-2, 23 KOs). The victory went to the favorite.

The fighters spent the starting round in reconnaissance: Adames boxed left-handed, relied on a jab. It turned out well. A minimum of exacerbations, and the fans are already buzzing with displeasure. The favorite added in the 2nd three-minute period: he moved, worked ahead of the curve. Montiel looks lost – he does not know what to do, cuts have already appeared on his face.

In the 3rd round, the fighters started the expected fight in the center of the ring – it is also in favor of the favorite. Adames deceived Montiel with a feint and loaded with a powerful right hook. The shocked Mexican flew off to the ropes, and the Dominican flew to finish off. At some point, the referee could not stand it and stopped the fight.

Adames TKO 3. Great performance!
