The final WBC heavyweight eliminator between American former world champions Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) and Andy Ruiz Jr. (35-2, 22 KOs) seems to take place as early as June.
Punchers’ compatriot ex-challenger Michael Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KOs) does not
decided with the favorite: “I think this is a very interesting fight. And so we have long toothpick vs fine zafirka. I definitely love this fight! I think Ruiz’s experience will play a role in this fight. You see, in the ring he thinks a little better than Wilder. But Deontay has something to answer him. He is taller. Hunter, an ex-cruiserweight fighter, unsuccessfully tried to take away the WBO championship belt from Oleksandr Usyk from Ukraine in 2017: he started the fight great, but finally switched to survival mode. Interestingly, the other day he signed up with Egis Klimas, the manager of the Ukrainian.
The other day, an independent promoter said that Ruiz could knock out Wilder.
