According to Reuters, the 37-year-old Pole failed a doping test after an early defeat in a boxing match against Richard Riakporé last January. Glowacki denied knowingly taking a banned substance and his case was reviewed by the National Anti-Doping Commission, which issued a final ruling this week.
A failed doping test didn’t stop Krzysztof Glowacki from making a successful mixed martial arts debut at KSW 83 in June, where he authored one of the most spectacular finishes of 2023, knocking out Patrick Tolkaczewski from the back position. There is no word on whether the Pole will be stripped of his MMA victory.
It should be noted that Krzysztof Glowacki lost the WBO championship belt in September 2016, losing by unanimous decision to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik after twelve rounds.
