Volkov’s coach commented on Ngannou’s victory over Gan
The coach of the Russian heavyweight UFC Alexander Volkov Taras Kiyashko commented on the victory of Francis Ngannou over Cyril Gan and called his student an uncomfortable opponent for the champion from Cameroon.
“In fact, I am not surprised that Ngannou is not standing still, but, as they say now, is developing,” Kiyashko said in an interview with SE. – He trains a lot, and with this fight he once again confirmed that he is developing and developing. Now we know him not only as a man with tremendous punching power, and who can finish the fight with one blow at any moment, but also as someone who can think tactically, think, listen to his angle and make decisions during the fight.”
“I don’t think he’s comfortable for Ngannou,” the coach said. – I think the opposite is true – Sasha will be an uncomfortable opponent for Ngannou. First, their size. Secondly, with their technical arsenal, wrestling skills, striking technique. It’s hard to say now… But I don’t think he’s comfortable for Ngannou. That’s just quite uncomfortable. On the contrary – many consider Alexander uncomfortable [для Нганну] adversary.”
Ngannou defeated Gan by unanimous decision to successfully defend the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
Volkov’s next fight will take place on March 19 at the UFC tournament in London. Opponent – Briton Tom Aspinall.
