Nate Diaz is in talks to return to the UFC

Former UFC lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz, who left the world’s strongest league as a free agent at the end of 2022, is in talks to return to the organization.

This was reported by informed sources close to the situation.

The news comes a week after the American fighter announced his desire to participate in the UFC 300 anniversary tournament, which will take place on April 13 in Las Vegas.

Nate Diaz, 38, retired from the UFC after an early victory over Tony Ferguson, whom he finished by guillotine choke in the fourth round. Prior to that, Diaz had suffered two straight losses, failing to reach the fourth round against Jorge Masvidal due to a dissection, and losing a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards in a contender’s bout.

Last August, the American made an unsuccessful professional boxing debut, losing a ten round unanimous decision to Jake Paul before turning down an offer for a $15 million rematch with the blogger in the PFL cage.

The desire to fight Diaz has already been announced by former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Puryear, who is ranked third in the division’s rankings.
