Jon Jones called the reason for the weak performances in light heavyweight

Contender for the vacant UFC heavyweight title, Jon Jones, has explained why his recent performances in the light heavyweight division have been underwhelming and a real disappointment to his fans.

“I stopped looking at fight records and started treating everything like a chore,” Jones said in an interview with Unlocking the Cage. “The fear is gone – I stopped being afraid of these guys. In addition, I was dissatisfied with my salary. In doing so, I was opposed by guys like Reyes, who had dreamed of fighting me since college and was unknown to the general public.”

“So I wanted something more. I wanted to be nervous again. I wanted to feel fear again. I think fear is good, and now I’m in a position to feel it again.”

Recall that on March 4 at UFC 285 in Las Vegas, Jon Jones will try to win the vacant UFC heavyweight title in a confrontation with former interim division champion Cyril Gan, who occupies the first line in the ranking.
