Two-time super middleweight champion American David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) has previously promised to make a splash in the light heavyweight division. Apparently, he liked the reaction of the public to that interview.

He again
promises knock out the WBA Super champion pound native of Kyrgyzstan Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs). But that’s not all: “I definitely plan to move up to light heavyweight over time. I know I can take the belt there. I know from sparring with light heavyweights. I know that many have seen the video in which I said that I could knock out Bivol. And I said what I think.”

Benavidez recalled that he had previously “already sparred with Bivol in Churchill Boxing Hall. And many have seen it. And they know what happened there. No lies. You can ask eyewitnesses yourself. So I’m not bragging when I say that I can move up to light heavyweight and take belts there. Like it or not, every fighter must believe in himself. Without it, you have no chance.”

Benavidez has already planned for the near future: “First you need to solve all the cases in the super middleweight division. I want to be the unified champion at this weight and then move up. I think that in the future I will box even in cruiserweight. Heavyweight? You know, I used to be a heavyweight… Never say never. Let’s see how it will be … But for now, the super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions are in the plans.

Benavidez had mental problems as a child. He “ate” them, gained 113 kg – you can read about this in the material little bear.

On March 25, in Las Vegas (USA), Benavidez will defend his interim WBC title in a confrontation with compatriot and ex-world champion Caleb Plant. The experienced Hopkins already knows who will win this fight.
