Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones believes Cyril Gan’s next fight will be up against forces the Frenchman can’t compete with.
“I really believe with all my heart that the Lord himself chose me to be an invincible fighter,” the American said in an interview with MMA Underground. “I sincerely believe in this with all my soul and being. To win, you need to beat not only me, but also the Lord whom I serve. I don’t believe that I was made to fail. I can have close fights but I really don’t believe I can lose.”
As you know, on account of 35-year-old Jon Jones there is one defeat by disqualification, which he suffered in 2009 in a duel against Matt Hamill, using illegal elbow strikes. A few years ago, UFC President Dana White tried to officially change the result of the match, but the Nevada State Athletic Commission upheld it.
Recall that the battle for the vacant UFC heavyweight championship belt between Jon Jones and Cyril Gan on March 4 will headline the UFC 285 tournament in Las Vegas.
