Top heavyweight prospect Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs) wrote ex-champion Joseph Parker (30-2, 21 KOs) an annoyed open letter offering him a new date for the derailed showdown and urging him to “stop avoiding” him. He previously shared his thoughts on Usyk, Joshua, White and Parker.
Below is the text of the Briton’s appeal without abbreviations.
“Mr. Parker, I always wanted to fight you, and you pretended to want that fight. In reality, you said and did everything to avoid me.
After everything was set up, you jumped out of your July 2nd fight with shitty excuses about your coach, and then started begging to push the fight back to September to get more time to train. I agreed. After that, you asked for other things. And that was also agreed.
Fury vs Joyce in October. Arum ready to make a fight
For weeks you told me everything was fine, and then you merged everywhere. To put it bluntly, you’re full of shit and don’t want to fight.
Tell your new promoter that I will fight [с тобой] September 24th. If you’re not scared, sign the contract. Stop avoiding me.”
On June 21, Joyce’s promoter Frank Warren claimed that Parker allegedly violated a gentlemen’s agreement and disrupted the fight with Joyce.
Joseph himself is targeting the winner of the Usyk-Joshua 2 fight.
