On November 6, in Minnesota (USA), Cuban David Morrel (8-0, 7 KOs) successfully defended his WBA World secondary title, knocking out Kazakhstan challenger Aidos Yerbosynuly (16-1, 16-1,

The winner’s coach, American Ronnie Shields, complained about the referee’s stubbornness – he believes that the fight should have been stopped earlier. And now Yerbosynuly’s further career is allegedly under threat.

“They should have stopped the fight faster,” Shields says. “They let this guy (Yerbosynuly) take too much beating. Tony Wicks is a really good referee, but sometimes you have to go to a fighter’s corner and say, “Guys, you need to stop this.” It was for this reason that Yerbosynuly began to fight dirty – he simply did not want to be knocked out.

“It’s all about his pride,” Ronnie is sure. – So I praise the guy that he withstood so many blows, but sometimes you need to protect them from themselves. He missed too much. And you know what? This guy may never step into the ring again. That’s how much he got.”

It should be noted that after the fight, Yerbosynuly was taken to a local hospital for examination.

After the victory, Morrel stated that they were not afraid of him, but they knew for sure that he would come for them.
