Promoter Eddie HearnMatchroom boxing) knows for sure who exactly is the best light heavyweight boxer. Therefore, the businessman is not surprised that in May, even the leader could not cope with the owner of the WBA Super belt, Russian Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs). P4P rating Mexican Saul Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs).

Hearn claimsthat against the owner of the other belts of the knockout division from the Russian Federation, Artur Beterbiev (18-0, 18 KOs), Canelo would have had much more chances: “You yourself know that styles make fights. And stylistically, Beterbiev is really much more convenient than Canelo in comparison with Bivol. I said before and I will repeat again: Bivol will beat Beterbiev.”

It is possible that we will never see a duel for the title of the absolute champion of the division. Both are preparing for title defenses. Beterbiev will almost certainly travel to the UK to fight local slugger Anthony Yarde. Hearn is shocked: “This is a mismatch. And one hundred percent! Yard is a good local fighter. But no more. He had a good fight in Russia with (WBO champion) Sergey Kovalev. But Beterbiev is a completely different animal.”

“Canelo took a risk. Moved up to light heavyweight and fought the best fighter in the division. This was a very difficult task. I think we have to give him credit for his incredible pursuit of greatness,” Hearn said.

Meanwhile, Yard is confident in his abilities, says: “No worries.” Earlier it became known that the arena had already been chosen for this fight. The challenger’s coach even said: “I thought Beterbiev was faster.”
