American ex-world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) does not hide that he is much more interested in the fight with Briton Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) than the WBC eliminator fight with compatriot Andy Ruiz – junior (35-2, 22 KOs).

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman
reacted to the words of the champion: “Well … They make the decision. It is up to them to decide what is best for them from a business point of view. And we have a resolution. We build on the fact that Deontay held the WBC title for five years, while remaining a great role model and a personal friend of mine. I hope that he will have many glorious victories in the ring in the future. I think he deserves all the very best. And I do not hide the fact that I really like it. Let’s see what happens and how.”

Suleiman was asked specifically about Ruiz – what will happen if Wilder refuses the eliminator. The WBC boss decided to cheat: “This is already speculation. And we don’t speculate. We respond to specific situations and make decisions based on them.”

In the meantime, the current WBC champion Tyson Fury is lobbying for a super fight between Wilder and the “impenetrable” fighter and does not hide the fact that he really hopes that Ruiz will knock out Deontay tightly.
