Former WBC heavyweight champion American Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) will fight Robert Helenius (31-3, 20 KOs) from Finland on October 15 in Brooklyn (New York, USA).

The puncher will return to the ring after two early defeats in a row from the British heavyweight leader Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs). It is possible that very soon Wilder will again enter the title fight – earlier he was mentioned in the list of possible opponents by the owner of all other championship belts Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs).

“Am I ready to accept the challenge of a Ukrainian? — reasoning Wilder. – Definitely. Even though I’m not used to accepting offers from other fighters, as I’m used to bless others with title fights myself. Oh yes, I have blessed many with titles. And those fights changed their lives. It’s good to realize this. I confess I am pleased with myself. To be honest, I became close after the fight with many of my ex-rivals, because most of them are grateful to me for the title attempt. It’s funny that now I’m being offered the same blessing. It would be great if that happens.”

Wilder said that he plans to fight for another 3 years, during which he will hold 6 or even 9 fights. One of Deontay’s main goals is to “make a great fight in Africa”.

Earlier, he said: “We are doing something that we have not seen before …”, and also hopes for Usyk’s word. Promoter Eddie Hearn believes that Usyk is already in the Hall of Fame, but not Fury, Joshua, and even more so Wilder.
