A few days ago we reported that ex-world champion in four categories Mikey Garcia quietly said goodbye to boxing.
However, the way Mikey did it – simply by adding the corresponding entry on his Instagram profile, raised doubts and suggested that without an official statement, this is still no reason to send the boxer to retire irrevocably.
Mikey’s older brother and coach, Robert Garcia, brought clarity.
“It’s time for him to enjoy being with his kids, family and loved ones,” says Robert. “I think he made the right decision. When a fighter no longer wants it, when he has no hunger, we will not go out there and risk our lives.”
Thus, a sensational defeat on points from the Spaniard Sandor Martin in October last year put an end to the career of Mikey Garcia.
