Over the weekend in London (UK), local heavyweight challenger Joe Joyce (14-0, 13 KOs) scored in 4 rounds against German gatekeeper Christian Hammer (27-10, 17 KOs), after which he remembered Usyk, Joshua and Fury.
Despite the stream of criticism (Joyce traditionally reflects with his face everything that flies in his direction), the promoter of the big man Frank Warren (queensberry promotions)
does not doubt the ward: “With the same Alexander Usyk, Joe has a great backstory. They met in amateurs in a five-round duel (a fight from the WSB series), and the Ukrainian won. But if they met now, then there would be 12 rounds. That is the whole difference.”
“I think Joyce could handle Anthony Joshua,” Warren continues. “They’re both great punchers, but Joe has a much thicker beard. And he is constantly moving forward. I think he would have beaten Joshua, worn him out. As for me, Anthony’s only chance in this fight is to knock out Joyce. Otherwise he won’t win.”
“Tyson Fury is the only one in the division I rate higher,” Warren admits. “It seems to me that he is at least a whole head superior to the rest of the pursuers. I think that at this point in his career, Fury’s speed and brains would be an unsolvable problem for Joe.”
Joyce does not agree with the promoter, he believes that “now he has enough experience to confront anyone” – he wants to try himself at the top level.
It’s already known when “The Truck” will return to the ring, and the fighter’s manager has announced options – you will like all three. Cuban prospect Frank Sanchez heard he was on the list and stated in response, “Joyce is slow, he won’t be a problem for me.”
