Former world featherweight and second featherweight champion, who recently announced the transition to the lightweight category (up to 61.2 kg), American Shakur Stevenson shared his opinion about a possible fight between the current absolute champion of the division, compatriot Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) and ex- champion in three categories Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs).
According to Stevenson, Haney has a few defining strengths that will help him get the upper hand.
“I think Devin will win (over Lomachenko). He outboxes him,” Shakur says. “Devin is faster and taller, and I just think that due to the advantage in arm span, he will outbox him.”
Recall that already this weekend, Haney will hold the first defense of all four titles belonging to him in a rematch against Australian George Kambosos. Two weeks later, Lomachenko will enter the ring to box against American prospect Jemaine Ortiz.
It is possible that in case of victories, Devin and Vasily will meet in the next battle.
