Johnny Fisher (7-0, 6 KOs) can’t boast of solid scalps on profiring yet. But he claims that he sparred with almost all the strongest representatives of Britain in the heavyweight division.
When the prospect was asked which of them had the heaviest fists, Fischer
surprised answer: “Perhaps this is Daniel Dubois. He has very powerful punches. It was him that I would call the toughest drummer with whom I have ever paired. I recently sparred with him. I am very happy about this, because it’s great to have the experience of sparring with a world-class striker. I hope one day he gets a chance to fight for a full title. After all, he is still young, still developing, becoming better and stronger.
Fisher has experience sparring with the current heavyweight leaders: “Sparring with Joe Joyce turned out to be just hellish. It was fire. Like a hammer and anvil. And, of course, you need to mention the champion Tyson Fury. He is also definitely in the top of knockouts. Not the toughest, but definitely the most comprehensively developed. Sparring with him is an unreal experience. It’s a pity that they didn’t work very much, but I am very grateful to him and his father for the valuable knowledge and advice that they shared with me. I will always remember this.”
Dubois hit the floor three times last Saturday but knocked out Lerena in his first defense of the WBA World belt. It is interesting that the result of this fight can be changed – the applicant’s promoter is threatening to sue.
