This weekend in Washington (USA) will be the first large-scale boxing evening this year. As part of the PPV show from PBC Al Haymon will play for the vacant interim IBF welterweight title – American Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) and Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan (20-1, 11 KOs) will meet in a head-to-head fight.
Leading up to the fight, Ennis talked about a potential fight for a full championship belt: “Winning this fight could lead me to a fight with Errol Spence. Therefore, for me, the upcoming fight is an ideal opportunity to express myself publicly. So I can’t wait for the fight. Yes, I plan to win brightly so that my message can be heard all over the world. I am completely focused on the fight, on how to finish it with a bright knockout. What will happen next? We will see…”
And Chukhadzhyan praised the favorite: “This is a very strong opponent, but we prepared well for him. Leading up to the fight, I sparred with a lot of very stylistically different fighters. We have a great plan for the fight. I have come to win. For me, the upcoming fight is a chance to introduce myself to the American public.”
