The unbeaten lightweight knockout American Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) reacted to the statement of compatriot Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs), who, following the featherweight and super featherweight weight, is going to become the champion in the lightweight category and has no doubt that Davis will not succeed in preventing him from doing so.
“Why all of a sudden Stevenson bastard like he’s the best (lightweight)? He has not even fought at 61.2 kg yet. And he had no power at either featherweight or super featherweight,” says Gervonta. “And how can you stop people who might hit?” And you’ll miss out anyway. And what will you do when you get hit on the head?
“I hit like a heavyweight,” Davis says. – And it’s not just about power, but also about accuracy. Even when I knocked out Romero, it wasn’t just a big punch. The whole point is how I applied it. Where did I put it. Timing. Even the move I made. Every detail matters.”
Recall that already this weekend, Davis will hold the 28th fight on the pro, meeting with the unbeaten Dominican Hector Luis Garcia, who burned all the bridges for excuses – and is ready to beat the “Tank”.
