UFC 275 tournament bout

The fight will take place on June 12 in Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and will be one of the main ones at the UFC 275 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 06:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.

The rematch will see two former UFC strawweight champions Weili Zhang (21-4) and Joanna Jedrzejczyk (16-4). Jedrzejczyk is not in the UFC ratings due to a long downtime, but the Chinese woman is No. 2 in the minimum weight rating.

Jedrzejczyk has lost four of her last six fights. She last fought in March 2020 in an attempt to take the title from Zhang. The super-spectacular five-round fight ended with Zhang’s victory by a split decision of the judges, and Jedrzejczyk had to operate on a giant hematoma on his face after the fight.

Zhang fought twice after defeating Jedrzejczyk. In April 2021, she was knocked out at the start of the fight by a spectacular high kick performed by Rose Namajunas, losing her title. In November, their immediate revenge took place, and Namajunas emerged from it as the winner by a split decision of the judges.

Prediction for the fight

The fans are in anticipation and hope that the athletes will again give out a massacre. It should be assumed that the revenge, like the first fight, will take place in the standing position.

Jedrzejczyk is more technically savvy as a striker, but Zhang is a more powerful fighter and her boxing is a danger to anyone in the division. In her best years, Jedrzejczyk could have safely counted on winning, but she has not fought for more than two years and her career has long been in decline.

We predict that Jedrzejczyk’s form will probably be the worst of her career, and Zhang will be able to outbid her to win on the scorecards or even by knockout. The second option seems to us quite realistic.

Zhang wins by knockout in the 2nd round
