Weigh-in results for UFC 293: Adesanya and Strickland made championship weight

Sydney hosted the official weigh-in ceremony for UFC 293, the main event of which will be a middleweight title fight between current UFC champion, Israel Adesanya, and challenger for his belt, Sean Strickland.

The headliners of the event successfully navigated the proceedings without experiencing any problems in hitting the division’s championship limit, with the Nigerian clocking in at 83.82 kg (184.8 lbs) and the American recording 83.87 kg (184.9 lbs).

In the second most important event of the tournament, heavyweights Alexander Volkov of Russia and Ty Tuivasa of Australia will compete at 119.27 kg (262.95 lbs.) and 120.47 kg (265.6 lbs.), respectively.

The only member of the number show to fail the weigh-in was New Zealand welterweight Shane Young, who will give up 30% of his fight fee to opponent Gabriel Miranda for a 1.7kg (3.75lbs) overweight.
