On January 21, Manchester (England) will host a boxing evening, the main event of which will be a 12-round middleweight fight (up to 72.6 kg) between the British Chris Eubank Jr. (32-2, 23 KOs) and Liam Smith (32-3 -1, 19 KOs).
Today, the official weigh-in of the participants of the upcoming show took place.
Eubank and Smith successfully coped with the task, showing the same weight – according to 72.1 kg.
In another title fight of the evening with the belts of the champion of Britain and the British Commonwealth, as well as the European champion according to IBF and WBC International Silver in welterweight (up to 66.7 kg), representatives of Great Britain will also meet at stake – Ekow Essouman (18-0, 7 KOs) and Chris Kongo (14-1, 7 KOs).
They also have almost parity: 66.3 kg from the Congo and 66.2 kg at Essoumana.
As part of the show, the British cruiserweight prospect (up to 90.7 kg) Richard Riakpore (15-0, 11 KOs) will be tested by ex-world champion from Poland Krzysztof Glowacki (32-3, 20 KOs).
Here the difference is more significant: Riakpore – 90.4 kg; Glowacki – 89.5 kg.
Well, the biggest “chasm” between the heavyweights is the ex-world champion from New Zealand Joseph Parker (30-3, 21 KOs) and Briton Jack Massey (20-1, 11 KOs).
Parker – 111.2 kg; Massey – 96.7 kg.
