18-year-old British “heavyweight boxing hope”
Moses “Enrico” Ithauma signed with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions. Writes about it
talkSPORT.
Itauma won gold in the England national team at the World Youth Championship and the European Youth Championship, and he finished all the fights ahead of schedule.
At the end of autumn 2022, he ended his amateur career with an early victory over
Alexander Zelensky from Ukraine.
Upon reaching adulthood on December 29, the guy, having accumulated a handsome but modest record of 24-0 in amateurs, decided not to waste time in vain and immediately turned pro after his 22-year-old light heavyweight brother
Karol Itauma (9-0, 7 KOs).

“I didn’t get into boxing to win world titles, I just went to the gym because we were like a little family there. It was just fun. And later I started to win national titles,” Itauma said. “About two years ago, I felt that amateurs were not really my thing, I had outgrown it. No, I don’t consider myself special, but I realized that I was good at boxing, probably when I started sparring with Lawrence Okoli. I was then 14-15 years old, and I kept the rules in the ring.
“Then I sparred with Joe Joyce, Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua and still held up at least well, if not better. When I worked with Joyce and Okoli, I came to the hall right from school, ”Itauma recalled.
Warren called the acquisition “an exceptional talent that will set the nation and the world on fire.”
“Moses has the ability to be a great heavyweight and I’m sure the nation will support his world record quest,” says the promoter. “The future of heavyweight boxing is in the hands of Moses, who is destined to become champion and dominate for years to come.”
