Reigning UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has shared his thoughts on the upcoming bantamweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo.
“Henry Cejudo obviously has a lot more skills than Aljamain, especially on the stand,” the Australian said in a video posted to his YouTube channel. “I think he will be much more dangerous in the standing position, where he can even finish Aljamain with proper distance control. Aljamain will certainly want to backpack him like he always does, but against an Olympic wrestling champion, this will be very difficult to do.”
“I’m leaning towards Cejudo winning. His arsenal is more extensive, he understands the game, and I think he will be well prepared. Aljamain is very dangerous in certain positions, but Henry is the kind of fighter who studies his opponents and works hard at it. I will definitely watch this fight, because I guarantee whoever wins, Sterling or Cejudo, he will challenge me. Ready to bet anything on it. The winner will call my name
Recall that the fight between Sterling and Cejudo will be the main event of the UFC 288 tournament, which will be held on May 6 in Newark.
