Top UFC fighter regardless of weight, Alexander Volkanovski, shared his opinion on the upcoming flyweight title fight between Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley, which headlines UFC 292 on Aug. 19 in Boston.
“I’m leaning towards an Aljamain win as I think wrestling and control will ultimately make the difference,” the Australian said in another video posted on his YouTube channel.
“Part of the story is that Sterling could lose and then Sean O’Malley would immediately become a big superstar in the UFC. That sounds like something real. Dude beat Petr Yan. Some people have a special impulse that makes their future predetermined. Sometimes I believe in things like that.”
“I feel that Sean O’Malley can win by technical knockout because his striking technique is very good, but the rational part of me makes me believe in an Aljamain victory for the simple reason that he has a safer path to victory”
The previous day, Aljamain Sterling announced that he would continue his career in the UFC’s featherweight division, where Alex Volkanovski holds the title, no matter the outcome of the fight.
