WBO No. 1 heavyweight Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs) and longtime division gatekeeper Christian Hammer (27-9, 17 KOs) saw each other yesterday at the final press conference for their Saturday fight in London, England.

Joe stated that he had a great training camp in Las Vegas with coach Ismael Salas, healed the injury and added new tools to his arsenal.

“I’m in good shape mentally and physically, and I think Hammer will be a good challenge, it’s going to be a good fight,” Joyce said. “He’s tough, he’s tough, and he’s had really good career names.”

Joyce shares thoughts on Usyk, Joshua, White and Parker

The Briton refused to make a prediction for the fight.

“I’m not going to put pressure on myself by predicting rounds. The duel can go all the way or I can nail him down. In my experience, things don’t always go as planned, so when I’m at a training camp, I just bring myself to the best condition and try to improve,” Joyce added. “Obviously, I prepared for Parker, but then I just made adjustments, and I have experience. Hummer? Strong guy. I’ve seen him throw hard serves. It’s a risky fight for me.”

Recall that on July 2, Joe was supposed to box against a completely different fighter, but Parker broke the fight with Joyce, said promoter Frank Warren. Joyce even wrote an angry letter to the other side of the planet.
