Vicente Luque will face Joaquin Buckley.

A welterweight fight between Vicente Luque and Joaquin Buckley will be the second main event of UFC on ESPN 54, which takes place March 30 in Atlantic City.

Informed sources close to the situation said of the matchup.

The news comes two weeks after Vicente Luque was stripped of his headliner status for the event due to the cancelation of his fight with Shawn Brady, who was scheduled to headline the event.

Vicente Luque, 32, returns to the octagon after winning a unanimous decision over Rafael Dos Anjos. The Brazilian had previously suffered two straight losses, losing by unanimous decision to Belal Muhammad and losing by knockout to Jeff Neal.

Joaquin Buckley, 29, representing the United States, is riding a two-fight win streak, finishing Andre Fili by technical knockout and winning a unanimous decision over Alex Morono.

Vicente Luque is currently ranked ninth in the UFC’s welterweight rankings, while Joaquin Buckley is not a top-15 fighter in the division.
