The welterweight fight between Vicente Luque and Rafael dos Anjos, who was scheduled to headline UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas on July 15, will take place on August 12, maintaining the status of the main event of the event.
The postponement of the fight was reported by informed sources close to the situation. It was previously revealed that the July tournament will headline the women’s bantamweight bout between Holly Holm and Maira Bueno Silva.
Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos made a successful return to welterweight last December with a second-round submission finish to Brian Barberena. Thus, he returned his career to a successful track after losing to Rafael Fiziev, to whom he lost by knockout in the fifth round.
Vicente Luque is on a two-game losing streak, losing via unanimous decision to Belal Muhammad and knockout to Jeff Neil.
