Valentina Shevchenko reacted to Sean Strickland’s words about women’s fights

Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Valentina Shevchenko did not ignore the statement of current UFC middleweight titleholder Sean Strickland, who spoke critically about women’s mixed martial arts in the context of discussing the earnings of Paige VanZant, who was fired from the organization.

“Paige VanZant said she made more money in 24 hours on the Only Fans platform than she did in her entire UFC career. Let’s break this down,” the American wrote on social media. “1) You only got signed to the UFC because you’re hot. 2) Women’s MMA sucks. 3) Men will pay more to see you naked than your fights. Stay in school, guys! Fighting sucks, lol.”

It didn’t take long for Bullet to respond.

“Interesting breakdown, but it sounds more like the words of a hurt kid who has made less money than female fighters in his entire career,” Shevchenko wrote. “Nice try – maybe the UFC will see that and slip you some money next time. But for now, the starving man here is you.”

In September of this year, Sean Strickland scored a sensational victory over Israel Adesanya, defeating the Nigerian by unanimous decision to become the division’s new champion, and the American will make his first title defense on January 20 at UFC 297 in Toronto against second-ranked South African Dricus Du Plessis.

Valentina Shevchenko lost the UFC flyweight title to Alexa Grasso by rear-naked choke in the fourth round in March, and in September, “Bullet” made a failed attempt to regain the championship belt by drawing a rematch with the Mexican.
