Former UFC flyweight titleholder Valentina Shevchenko has no doubts that she can defeat Alexa Grasso in a rematch in a week’s time and reclaim the championship belt.
“Mixed martial arts is the perfect fighting style and I am a versatile MMA fighter,” Shevchenko said in an interview with LowKick MMA. “I’m focused on all aspects of the fight. I can’t focus on one thing because things can change in a fight and I’ll find myself not ready for it. Fighters competing at this level have to be ready for everything”
“I’m coming out for this fight to win. I’m coming out to destroy my opponent. I’m not going to mess around – I’m coming out to take what’s mine and show not just the best version, but the greatest version of myself.”
Alexa Grasso authored one of the highest-profile upsets in MMA history this March, sensationally finishing Valentina Shevchenko with a fourth-round rear-naked choke, and her rematch with “Bullet” on Sept. 16 will headline UFC Fight Night 227 in Las Vegas.
