Vadim Nemkov gave advice to Magomed Ankalaev

Bellator’s top fighter regardless of weight class, Vadim Nemkov, has assessed the title prospects of his compatriot Magomed Ankalaev, who defeated Brazilian Johnny Walker three weeks ago via early submission.

“He won brightly, beautifully, early – now he has to win all his fights like that, and then he will be given a title fight. And if he won one fight ahead of schedule, and the other fights will be lying around, boring fights, then he will be pushed away from the title fight,” the Russian said in an interview with the channel “Ushataika”.

The bantamweight fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Johnnie Walker, headlining UFC Fight Night 234 in Las Vegas, ended in the second round with a knockout victory for the Russian.

Vadim Nemkov, who vacated the Bellator bantamweight championship belt, will make his heavyweight division debut on Feb. 24 at a joint PFL and Bellator event in Riyadh, and his opponent will be former PFL champion Brazilian Bruno Cappelozza.
