Vadim Nemkov fight canceled, Anatoly Tokov will fight for Bellator title

Reigning Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov will not be defending his title on February 4 at Bellator 290 in Inglewood, but there are still two Russian title fights on the card.

Representatives of the organization officially announced that the fight between Vadim Nemkov and Cuban Yoel Romero was leaving the list of participants in the event, and the title fight in the middle weight category between American Johnny Eblin and Russian Anatoly Tokov became a new co-main event of the tournament.

The main event of the tournament remains the heavyweight title fight between Ryan Bader and Fedor Emelianenko.

Bellator did not specify the reason for the cancellation of the fight between Nemkov and Romero, but it is possible that the Russian team managed to insist on postponing the fight due to lack of time to prepare.

In June of this year at Bellator 282 in Uncasville, 31-year-old Johnny Eblin took the Bellator middleweight belt from Gegard Mousasi in a dominant style, defeating the Dutchman by unanimous decision 50-45 three times in five rounds.

Anatoly Tokov, 32, won his seventh consecutive Bellator win at the same event, finishing with a first-round TKO against Muhammad Abdullah.
