Vadim Nemkov assessed the styles of Makhachev and Khabib

Bellator’s best fighter regardless of weight class, Vadim Nemkov, answered the question of whether he would like to learn anything from his notable compatriots Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, who reached UFC lightweight gold and the No. 1 spot in the UFC’s P4P rankings.

“I like the style when working in the stand-up more,” the Russian said in an interview with the channel “Ushataika”. “Khabib, in principle, the fight was not boring, there were a lot of kills, but I like the work in the rack more. For the viewer it is more interesting, I think so. So, when I watched Khabib’s fights, I realized that this is his style, he works like this, he beats everyone, and he doesn’t need to change anything. But I wouldn’t want to fight like him”

“You can’t say that about Islam. Islam can fight in the stand-up, and he can fight well in the wrestling. Islam knocked out Volkanovski, and you could see that it was a prepared punch, because he started throwing it a little bit earlier, and they were yelling at him from the corner, ‘Islam, early!’ He threw a couple more low kicks, and then he hit him in the head. It’s a good set-up that worked, and it shows the level of fighter.”

As a reminder, Vadim Nemkov, who vacated the Bellator bantamweight championship belt, will make his heavyweight debut on February 24 at the PFL and Bellator co-main event in Riyadh, and his opponent will be former PFL champion Bruno Cappelozza.
