The conqueror of four weight divisions American Mikey Garcia shared his opinion about the situation in the heavyweight. future member International Boxing Hall of Fame began with a review of the rematch between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and Briton Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs), which took place over the weekend in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

His brother Robert Garcia was preparing Joshua for this revenge – the Briton fought much more confidently than the first confrontation with the Ukrainian, but lost by a separate decision of the judges.

Fight Usyk – Joshua. ZSU — report on the second confrontation

Mikey’s opinion: “I think Joshua had a good fight. He, perhaps, lost a little, but this is boxing. It happens. Tendril? This is a very good fighter, very difficult: left-handed, a lot of maneuvers, head movements. It’s very hard to get into this. He did what he had to do. But, as for me, the fight turned out to be very competitive. You can even say that everything was decided by one round.

On the previously announced comeback of ex-world champion American Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs): “He can still fight (at the top level). Perhaps first he needs to spend 1-2 intermediate fights to the best of his ability, to feel confident. And after that, I think he can compete with the top names again. Wilder always carries a threat, because with his power there is always a chance. I think he has a lot of options in the division. He can win in any duel, because he remains dangerous until the last second of the battle. This cannot be written off. Remember that he was on the verge of defeat in a fight with (WBC champion) Tyson Fury, but he still shook the opponent several times. One blow is enough for him to seize the initiative and beat an opponent who has almost begun to celebrate the victory.

On a potential fight for the title of absolute world champion between Usyk and Fury: “A very difficult fight for a Ukrainian, since Fury is not only huge, but also a very versatile fighter who knows how to use it all. He is good at long range boxing. Therefore, for Usyk it would be an even tougher fight. But Alexander is one of those with whom it will not be easy for anyone. He is a very difficult target: movements, head movements, left-handed stance, feints. Yes, this will be a problem for absolutely everyone.”

Fury said yesterday that he is no stranger to taking belts away from homeless people from Ukraine. In the family of the champion, grief – in England, his cousin was stabbed to death.
