The unified heavyweight champion and ex-cruiserweight absolute Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) was asked to comment on the words of the British columnist and former WBO heavyweight belt holder Johnny Nelson.
Last year, he decided to make a little joke on Usyk’s name, declaring that he was “an average left-hander.”
Usyk smiled and answered in Ukrainian: “Does he want to box with me? Or what? Come on. We will box on Saturday (in a rematch against Anthony Joshua). Let him come later.”
On August 20, in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Usyk will have a rematch with Briton Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) – WBA Super, IBF and WBO titles will be at stake. Interestingly, on the eve of the second fight, Nelson said that the upcoming fight could be the last in his compatriot’s career – he does not believe in his victory.
Earlier, coach James Ali Bashir commented on the words of the British observer: Nelson would have beaten Usyk? Johnny, stop smoking marijuana! And the British expert even said: Nelson says that he would have beaten Usyk? He’s an idiot?
