Long months of negotiations and shaking every point of the contract finally culminated in the official announcement of a heavyweight rematch for the IBF, WBO and WBA titles. Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) was full of enthusiasm and cheerfulness on this occasion, and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) was focused.

The fight will take place on August 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In September last year, at the stadium in London, Usyk declassified the local favorite.

Here’s what the fighters had to say about the rematch.

“This is my roller coaster adventure! I’m fighting for the title of champion for the 12th time in a row, – said Joshua. First won the belt, unified the belts, lost the belts, became a two-time champion, and now I have a date with a date to become a three-time champion. Here is the chance!”

“Constantly fighting at the championship level – this has its pluses and minuses. But every day I decide to become stronger, learn from my experience and grow, — said Joshua. “A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter and I am the happiest and most motivated I have ever seen.”

“Usyk is too good.” Fury doesn’t believe in Joshua rematch

In contrast to Anthony, Usyk was no different this time.

“I have a goal, and with the help of the Lord I will fulfill my mission,” Usyk said in his usual style, “guaranteeing” a second victory. See how he is now in shape.
