interview for the YouTube channel “Viktor Yalymov’s Boxing Studio”.
The functionary leading a career of about 40 boxers expressed his opinion about a possible fight for the title of absolute world champion in the heavyweight category (over 90.7 kg) between the unified champion from Ukraine Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) and the WBC title holder Briton Tyson Fury ( 32-0-1, 23 KOs). Dmitry also commented on Usyk’s desire to attend the next fight of former US champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs).

– Usyk is a top-level boxer. He has shown this through his amateur and professional careers. Very interesting fight and as a boxing fan I want to see it. My very close friend Sugar Hill trains Tyson Fury. And Tyson Fury has really risen from that moment. Because they have the same technique and psychology in combat. In the sense that Sugar taught him and helped him discover in himself. Thanks to this, Tyson really became a super man. When Sugar is in his corner, he is very hard to beat because he is a real superman. But Usyk is a very good boxer. This is a very cool fight and will be very interesting. And I know that Usyk takes the training process very seriously, he is very smart and thinks very quickly in the ring. It will be a very interesting fight.
– Who would you prefer?
– It also depends on where it will take place, when it will take place. Or it will take place in February, or in August. Who will have a fight before this, who will not have a fight before this – it all matters, I think. Because it’s such a close fight, these are two such good fighters, that it’s the little details that matter.

– These are not my boxers and I really look at it as a boxing fan. I think if Usyk says so, then in terms of business he is right, because this way he will be able to negotiate with Fury for more money and on the right date for himself.
