British promoter Eddie Hearn (Matchroom Boxing) inherited from compatriots. They are unhappy that the rematch for the title of unified heavyweight champion between Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) from Ukraine and Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) from England will take place in Saudi Arabia.

The first fight between the big guys took place in September last year in London (Great Britain) – Usyk won by unanimous decision. The rematch is scheduled for August.

Hearn explains: “Honestly, boxing is not golf or chess. Here people risk their lives and health. By the way, the division of the prize pool will be in the ratio of 50/50. So we really didn’t have any other choice. We would love to have a rematch in London and give Joshua the advantage of supporting his compatriots. But you know what? Usyk and his team are not ready to fight in London if they are offered 4-5 times more money somewhere else.”

According to Hearn, “The task of boxers is to finish their career in such a way that they can then provide their children with everything they need. And I help them with that.”

Meanwhile, Usyk’s ex-opponent told Joshua how to proceed in revenge: “Search and Destroy.” And the legendary and odious promoter Don King called the Ukrainian “a great patriot and a great fighter.”
